There are many different things to consider when looking into purchasing a new car. You’ll want to consider your needs, as well as what you can afford. Also know that the individual offerings of different types of cars are an important area to explore. Many times people will end up in a car that they truly aren’t happy with just because they don’t want to take the time to find out what is offered. You don’t want to be stuck in this situation when it’s so easy to avoid. Follow these simple steps to be sure that you end up in the car that you want.

1.)	Examine your needs in a car. Needs and wants are different. Things to consider include the climate that you live in, will you need an SUV? How many passengers will you have in the car on a normal day? Do you travel far, and is gas mileage important to you? This things are the most basic things that you need to take into consideration and will probably automatically narrow down the field of what you want vs. what you need in a car
2.)	After determining what you need in a car, the next step is to determine how much you are able to afford per month on a payment. Generally speaking, no matter how many cars you own the amount shouldn’t exceed 20% of your monthly take home pay.
3.)	You’ll need to decide whether it is better to lease or buy your car. Both have different advantages that you’ll have to weigh out. Leasing is generally less expensive as far as the monthly payments, and you’ll be able to then trade in the car at the end of the lease and get a new one. This will lead to you almost always being covered under warranty and also being able to have a new car every few years. If you are looking to buy your car, there are also many different advantages. If you can find a low interest rate on a purchase, then this ends up being a great deal. There are no mileage penalties when buying a car, in a lease you are only able to drive a certain amount per year. With a buy, your miles are endless.
4.)	Estimate what kind of investment this is long term. You’ll want to take into consideration that although two cars may be the same amount, one may have a higher insurance rate, or could perhaps have more maintaience fees that are included.
5.)	Take the time to find a dealership that you are comfortable with. One of the keys to finding a good car is to find a great salesperson; someone who you trust will give you the best deal. Once you find someone that you like, then go ahead and take the car on a test drive. This is important because although you may think you like the car, your mind could be changed once you drive the vehicle. Make sure that you are comfortable with the handling of the car, and your level of comfort while driving the car.
6.)	You won’t want to get the very first car that you drive even if you do like it. Take the time to drive at least 3 different options and decide from there. By doing this, it gives you a great idea of the different features, drivability of the car, and also the atmosphere of the dealership that you’ll be purchasing from. Keep in mind that you’ll most likely service the car at the dealership from which you buy it. Ask if they have any offers or service packages for customers who purchase the car there.

Overall, there are many different options that you’ll want to take into consideration when looking to get a new car. Make sure that you are comfortable with all the different aspects of your purchase. The car, the payment, the options and the people will all need to be in your liking for you to ultimately be happy with your new car.

When you have somewhere to go, don’t drive just to drive, try to have a purpose. Plan your errands out so that you can go at one time, and so that you can plan a route that will help to keep you from driving out of your way.

Don’t forget what time of day it is! Going out in the afternoon on Saturday is bound to be much busier than sometime during the mid-week. Saturday will lead to traffic, and slow roadways. Try to take back roads, or going during the week when roadways are quieter.

If you’re out running around, plan your errands near one another. Find stores that you need to go to that may be near other stores that you need to shop at as well. While you are at the store, inquire about delivery services. This will save you the time and gas the next time you need to make a trip.

Did you know that shutting off your engine for a short period of time, and then turning it back on will actually cause you to use more gas than just leaving the car on would? Next time you are stopped at a mailbox; don’t bother to turn off the engine. You’ll actually be better off if you just go ahead and leave the engine running for this short period of time.

Rid yourselves of all things that cause extra weight on the car. Whether this is heavy objects in the trunk, or luggage racks, take these off the car if you are not using them.
Air pressure in the tires is an important thing to keep your eye on. Especially before a long trip, take your car to the nearest gas station and fill the tires with air. The best time to do this will be sometime in the morning when the weather is cooler.

Instead of shopping for what may be a flashy car, try looking for a car that may be a little better for the environment. You can find a car that you’re likely to love, that just happens to be great for the environment.

How to decrease gas expenses

You may assume that anytime of the day is okay to fill up your gas tank, but here is a little known fact for you: it’s the best to fill up when the weather is coolest. This is when the gasoline will be at its densest, and the gas pumps only gauge the volume of the gas that it dispenses, but not the density.

The cheapest gas isn’t always the best way to go. Be careful to pick the best gas from the best provider that you can. Certain brands will give you better gas mileage because they are better quality than others

It’s easy and simple to check the prices of gas in your area by looking online. Try different websites, like MSN.com, where you can type in your area and it will display all of the gas prices that are closest to you. This way you can know the best place to go for gas without having to drive around to find it.

The Better You Drive, the More You Save

Did you know that driving your car at any speed higher than 70MPH actually ends up forcing the vehicles engine to work harder against wind resistance, which will result in the car burning more gas? This is a true fact; keep this in mind next time you’re driving, along with these other tips that may help you save some money:

Speed limits are of course set for safety first, but they can actually be a benefit to you, rather than what some people look at them as: an inconvince. Your car will burn less gas if you are moving at a slower rate, like 55 KPH. This speed will actually save you 21% more gas than your car would use if you were moving at speeds of 60-70 KPH.

Ever roll your windows all the way down on a nice day? Next time, roll them back up. When the windows of your car are rolled down it produces something called a wind drag. This cal actually reduces your gas mileage by 10%.

Do you jump right into your car when it’s been sitting for a short period of time? Next time you go out to your car, give the engine a chance to warm up first. Studies show that your engine performance will be better if you let the engine warm up before driving.

Keep on top of your cars recommended maintenance schedule. When purchasing a car, the dealership will let you know how often you need to get simple maintenance preformed on your car. Keep up on these things; they will all help keep your car in a good running condition.

Maintain a steady speed while driving. Especially if you are on a roadway that doesn’t have many stop lights or intersections, there is no reason to constantly slow down, and then speed way back up. Go ahead and pick a comfortable speed, and keep your speed for as long as you can. This will help to keep the strain on your engine minimal, which will save you gas while driving.

Once you’ve received a parking ticket, don’t think that you don’t have a chance to do something about it. It is always worth your time to write a letter and request that the ticket be cancelled. There have been cases that the ticket has been completely dismissed, or even if your request is denied, they may offer you a longer time period to pay your ticket.
There are key factors that will help you when looking into fighting a ticket, such as collecting evidence in your favor. As soon as possible try to take pictures of the area where you have received your ticket. Any cameras pictures will be fine, such as a camera phone or a digital camera. Here are some things that may help you when looking to gather evidence to defend your claim:
•	Unclear signs, suspended bay signs or residents parking signs
•	Unclear bay markings, or red/yellow lines that cannot be properly seen
•	Any area without a sign or marking that you believe should be there should be taken into account

Documents are also considered power evidence in your case while fighting your ticket. These documents can include reasons that you may have misunderstood the signs. Include any of the following in your appeal:
•	Any proof of mitigating circumstances
•	Reference numbers
•	Witness statements

How to appeal the ticket

An appeals process is set up to allow drivers that believe their ticket is unfair a chance to fight the ticket in the court system. You’ll want to make sure you take the following steps when considering appealing your ticket.

1.)	Check if there was an error: It is possible that the council made an administration error on their part. For instance, if you receive the amount of your ticket, and it does not match the preprinted amount on the back of your ticket, then you should appeal this amount because there has likely been a mistake.
2.)	Photograph the surroundings of the scene of the ticket: There are many signs that may have been unreadable, covered by trees, or blocked in some other way. Taking proof of this type of situation will greatly help you.
3.)	Appealing: The type of appeal that you will have to go through differs depending on exactly what type of ticket you have received. The appeal can involve writing a letter, providing evidence that you had no wrong doing, or simply an apology.
